Attention Ladies
The Women's Summer Breakaway at Maranatha in Muskegon, is on August 11. Kathy Troccoli and Ellie Lofaro will be our speakers. Sign up in the Commons. Contact Kris Arent at 748-1687.
Nursery Help
We are in need of summer help in our Nursery. Would you consider volunteering on Sunday mornings during the 9am SS/ABF or 10:15 service, either once a week, a month or per quarter? Contact Kelly Grifhorst or Sheri Nienhuis for more information. You may also apply online!
Backyard Bible School (VBS)
This summer, from August 16 through August 20, we will be holding Backyard Bible Clubs throughout the community. We are in need of three families and their homes to host these clubs. We just need you to supply your backyard, promote the club in your neighborhood and be there to help lend a hand. We are also in need of adults and teens to help with our summer Grand Finale on Friday evening, August 20. If you would like to host a club or just help out, we have many opportunities available. Contact Aaron Paul, in the church office for more information or to sign up.
Thailand
We have a team going to Thailand on October 10-17 and we have space for you! Look for a brochure in your mailbox for more information. If you have additional questions you can talk with Linda Masopust (team leader), Lori Lorenz, or Dean Parham.
Car Show Donations Needed
We need your help to solicit West Michigan merchants for family friendly goods & service donations to be auctioned off at the September 18, Holland Rescue Mission Benefit Car Show that Immanuel is hosting. Please begin immediately to bring them to the church office. If you have any questions, please contact Loren Arnoldink at 616.335.3512. Please note: the Holland Rescue Mission has respectfully asked that we not approach the following major contributors for their support: Haworth, JCI, Gentex, Buhler Prince, Herman Miller and Maplewood Automotive. Maranatha Concert
You are invited to join Immanuel's ABF classes for an evening of music and dining. This free concert will take place on Saturday, July 31, at the Maranatha Conference Center and features pianist Huntley Brown. A buffet dinner will be served for $12.75 per person. Transportation will be available or you may invite friends and drive on your own. Sign-up in your ABF or call Linda zurBurg of Flo McKeever by Sunday, July 25.
Missionary of the Month (August)
During the month of August we want to draw your attention to Paul & Andrea Jensen, our missionaries with Didasko. in Asia. Pick up some information about them in the Commons and watch the Missions TV for more details on their work.
New Fall Schedule
Sundays are going to look different for us this fall as we move to two morning services. Check the brochure in your church mailbox for details.
Lakeshore Pregnancy Center
A training session is being offered to anyone who wants to become a volunteer peer counselor at Lakeshore Pregnancy Center. Classes will be held in Holland on August 3, 4, 6, 10, 11 & 13 from 9am – 2pm. This is a 27-hour training and all classes are required. If interested, please call Carolyn (ext. 12) or Sue (ext. 22) at 396-5840, Monday from 9am – 7pm, or Tuesday – Thursday from 9am – 5pm. You can also volunteer as a receptionist, donations support, or data entry support.
Taking a Break
Our Adult Bible Fellowships and Sunday School classes are taking a pause. They will not be meeting August 15 – September 5, so plan aaccordingly.
Crazy Bounce
Fantastic Family Fridays are in full swing. Don't forget July 30 is Bounce Night at Crazy Bounce. This event is for all ages. Yes, parents, even you! Only $5.00 per person. Come join in the fun and excitement from 68pm. See you there!
Moms & Dads
Mark your calendars, you're not going to want to miss this! On August 6, we are having a movie night here at Immanuel. Drop the kids off, Nursery through 5th grade, and go enjoy dinner or maybe a walk on the beach! We got the kids! Event runs from 68pm.
Health Screenings
Immanuel Church will offer health screening in collaboration with Life Line Screening. The screenings are offered on September 30 in The Court and test for stroke risk, vascular disease, and bone density. Sunday Night Suppers
Beginning September 19 we are going to add an evening meal to our new Sunday format. If you have a church mailbox you will have received a card with more details about this. We will be having two informational
meetings about volunteering to help with this immediately following the morning service on August 8 & 15 in The View. Bring your questions and suggestions to one of these brief gatherings.
